Fear

How do people avoid procrastination to achieve their goals?

PROCRASTINATION

Procrastination robs us of productivity. And it’s something all of us do. So it’s worth understanding why we do it and working out how you can manage this behavior. Putting things off slows us down takes our time, and makes us feel frustrated. Being able to deal with procrastination is a useful time management strategy we all need.

Motivation

Not wanting to do a task because we don't like or we don't know how to do it lead us to poor work and to leave behind the work that we are supposed to do now.

Going beyond our comfort zone brings a lot of fear that can lead us to procrastination. The fear of failure can lead us to delay our future projects in case things go wrong. Getting to know our fears and how to handle them will help achieve a state of mind where we won't have to procrastinate.

Biology

The science of procrastination shows that it comes from the limbic system (pleasure center) fights for short-term pleasure while the prefrontal cortex (internal planner) fights for what’s best for us in the long run. So procrastination effectively comes down to our biology. In fact, the economist George Ainslie even said that procrastination "could well be called the basic impulse.”

Time

Not taking into consideration the amount of time it will take to complete a given task might also affect procrastination. A person needs to schedule their time in order have an organize life.

Stress

When tasks fall behind, stress gives us a signal that we have to get things done, it reminds us to stay productive, and alert. Stress can also be for the lack of sleep which is needed to organize ideas and do a better job to achieve deadlines.
